Green Flag Action Plan

Evaluation Results

As a committee, supported by our school we aim to;

Litter and Waste Minimisation

  • Work towards reducing waste output following waste audit (No cost - courtesy of Changeworks)

  • Continue reusing and recycling with feedback from classes to committee members for monitoring and evaluation

  • Continue to inform school of the importance of reducing litter in the playground

  • Complete a second litter pick audit and compare results to evaluate success

  • Participate in ‘reusing’ workshops led by Tim Chamberlain – Eco-Artist (5x £30.00/hr + £30.00 expenses = £180.00)

Biodiversity

  • Maintain strong links with the Friends of Dalmeny Street Park (encourage school community to keep up to date via website – www.FDSP.btik.com)

  • Develop a working group to maintain the large planter in Dalmeny St Park , which has been put into the care of our school.

  • Increase our understanding of growing a range of plants through the Drill Hall nursery project with support from knowledgeable members of our community

Energy

  • Continue to develop awareness of things we can do to save energy in school

  • Make energy saving posters reminding us to use lights, computers, radiators and windows with a responsible attitude.

  • Committee members to report back on how well their class is following the eco-recommendations
